Mission Statement
To eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Pennsylvania Chapter serves NEPA from their Wilkes-Barre office. The Greater Pennsylvania Chapter has been in existence for more than 25 years and is the leading organization in the state addressing issues related to Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. They provide vital services and support to individuals dealing with the disease as well as their families, caregivers and health professionals.
The NEPA community proudly participates in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which is held each year at PNC Field. This fundraiser helps raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
The Greater Pennsylvania Chapter is part of the larger Alzheimer’s Association, the leading, global voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care and support, and the largest private, nonprofit funder of Alzheimer’s research.
