Spotlight On
Carbon County Environmental Education Center
On this episode of GO WILD with DiscoverNEPA: We tour the Carbon County Environmental Education Center, located just outside Jim Thorpe on 70 acres of protected land within Mauch Chunk Lake Park. Chief Naturalist Susan Gallagher and Naturalist Jeannie Carl guide us through the grounds and introduce us to some of the wildlife that call this place home.
We step inside an eagle enclosure to meet a Bald Eagle that cannot return to the wild — and watch as two others stretch their wings in preparation for release. From the raptor trail and wetlands to live reptiles and hands-on lessons, CCEEC brings education and conservation together in an unforgettable setting.
