Mission Statement
The mission of Chop Out Hunger is to create an entire generation that doesn’t know hunger through innovative and collaborative outreach partnerships.
Fighting Food Insecurity in Scranton, PA
Chop Out Hunger, also known as Child Hunger Outreach Partners (CHOP), is on a mission to create a future where no child knows hunger. Serving over 50,000 students weekly across 21 Pennsylvania counties, CHOP provides essential nutrition programs that ensure kids and families have access to healthy food.
From Backpack Programs that send students home with nutritious weekend meals to In-School Pantries offering grab-and-go options, CHOP meets kids where they are. Their Pop-Up Pantries bring fresh groceries directly to communities in need, while Summer Meal Programs fill the gap when school is out. Beyond youth-focused initiatives, CHOP also supports veterans, active military, and seniors with dedicated food assistance programs.
What started as one mother’s determination to make sure no child went hungry has grown into a powerful force for change. Learn more and support the mission at ChopOutHunger.org.
