The Collaborative Autism Movement (CAM) is a nonprofit organization serving Northeastern Pennsylvania with a mission to build a more inclusive, understanding, and supportive community for individuals with autism. With more than 20 years of combined experience in the nonprofit space, CAM’s dedicated team and expert advisory board partner with local organizations, businesses & service providers to deliver thoughtful programs that meet the real-life needs of those on the autism spectrum.
Empowering Through Sensory-Friendly Services
CAM’s initiatives are designed to remove barriers and promote dignity through everyday experiences. Their sensory-friendly haircut program teams up with salons, barbers, and behavior technicians to ease children and adults into a traditional haircut setting with care and patience. CAM’s sensory-friendly photography sessions give families affected by autism the opportunity to capture milestones and moments in a calm, accommodating atmosphere, resulting in cherished keepsakes without the stress.
Promoting Inclusion Through Adaptive Athletics
Through unified sports programming, CAM fosters social inclusion by pairing individuals with and without disabilities on the same teams. These programs build friendships, boost confidence and encourage physical activity while challenging stereotypes and promoting acceptance. Each initiative is crafted to open doors and create safe spaces where people of all abilities feel welcome.
