Preserving Tradition

Founded in 1995, the Greater Scranton Black Diamonds Pipe Band is committed to educating the public about the art of piping and drumming while fostering a deep sense of pride in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Their mission extends to providing individuals of all ages and backgrounds with the opportunity to learn and master a musical instrument. Through their efforts, the band not only preserves a rich cultural tradition but also unites the community through the power of music.

An all-volunteer nonprofit, the musicians perform at numerous annual events including St. Patrick’s Day Parades in Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and Pittston, volunteer fire company parades, military events, weddings and other special events throughout the year.
