The Greater Wyoming Valley Area YMCA, with locations in Wilkes-Barre, Pittston and White Haven, is committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Serving the region for over 160 years, this nonprofit adapts to changing community needs while staying true to its mission: to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
Health & Wellness for Every Age
The Y is widely recognized for its inclusive health and wellness programs. Facilities offer fitness centers, pools, gymnasiums and spaces for group exercise, recreational activities and sports leagues. Programs also support individuals with chronic conditions and promote long-term healthy habits. From youth sports to senior wellness, the Y provides opportunities for active lifestyles at every age.
Childcare & Youth Programs
Beyond fitness, the YMCA is a trusted resource for working families. Its childcare programs serve children from six weeks to age five with quality daycare, preschool and pre-K classes. School-age children benefit from before and after school programs, while Camp Kresge in White Haven provides a 1,100-acre space for summer learning, play and friendship.
Access & Support for All
Thanks to the generosity of donors, no one is turned away for inability to pay. The Y offers financial assistance to ensure access to memberships, youth programs and wellness services, reinforcing its role as a community hub for all.
