Restoring the Oakdale One-Room Schoolhouse
The society’s flagship project is the Oakdale One-Room Schoolhouse, located at 440 Pritchard’s Road, Hunlock Township, PA, was built in 1890 and used for more than six decades. Thanks to generous donations and volunteer efforts, this rare surviving structure has been lovingly restored to reflect its original character. The schoolhouse now serves as a living museum, available for private appointments, where visitors can explore artifacts and gain insight into early education in rural Pennsylvania.
