Hunts for Healing | Outdoor Adventures for Wounded Veterans in Laceyville
Hunts for Healing in Laceyville is a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to helping post-9/11 combat veterans heal through mentored outdoor challenges. Founded in 2009, this community organization recreates the camaraderie and support of a small military squad—providing wounded service members with connection, purpose, and renewal in the natural world.
Outdoor Programs That Inspire Growth
Each multi-day event hosts a small group of veterans who are paired with mentors, many of whom are fellow vets. Participants enjoy home-cooked meals, quality lodging, and all necessary supplies—creating a comfortable, welcoming environment for healing and growth. Hunts for Healing offers a variety of activities year-round, including guided hunts, fishing trips, gun builds, and family camps designed to rebuild confidence and encourage teamwork.
More Than a Retreat—A Path to Renewal
Every event fosters emotional, physical, and spiritual recovery while reigniting a sense of belonging. Many participants find the experience life-changing—some even return as mentors or start similar programs in their communities. Supported by private donations and dedicated volunteers, Hunts for Healing continues to help veterans find peace, friendship, and strength outdoors.
Hunts For Healing empowers wounded warriors to heal, connect, and rediscover purpose through shared outdoor adventures.
