Mission Statement
End drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support the victims of these violent crimes, and prevent underage drinking.
Founded in 1980 by Candance Lightner, Mothers Against Drunk Driving is a non-profit organization that works to bring awareness to the detrimental consequences driving under the influence can have. Many victims of these crashes often don’t know where to turn. That’s where MADD steps in.
MADD offers a variety of services that help victims and survivors of drunk or drugged driving with the challenges they face after the crash. They stick around as long as their clients need, and they help them every step of the healing journey. Some services MADD offers are emotional support, court accompaniment (where available), access to support groups and counselors, and much more.
