Mission Statement
The mission of the Sheppton-Oneida Volunteer Fire Company is to systematically and professionally protect the lives and property of the residents and visitors of East Union Township and surrounding areas. This is accomplished by providing the highest quality fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to anyone in need, through the dedication of highly trained volunteers, using the best equipment and resources available. We have a mindset towards training, fire prevention, safety, service, and progression.

The Sheppton-Oneida Volunteer Fire Company (SOVFC), established in November 1933 and incorporated on March 11, 1935, is a dedicated, all-volunteer emergency services provider serving East Union Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
Covering 26 square miles, their service area includes the villages of Sheppton, Oneida, Brandonville, Phinneyville, Girard Manor, Cove Village, Eagle Rock Resort and the Humboldt Industrial Park West.
SOVFC operates a fleet that includes an Engine, Tanker, Squad, Utility and UTV, ensuring comprehensive emergency response capabilities.
Beyond emergency services, they actively engage with the community through various fundraising events such as online raffles, monthly lottery calendars and the annual “52 Gun Extravaganza.” These efforts are crucial in supporting their operations and maintaining equipment.
For community members seeking a venue, SOVFC offers hall rentals equipped with a full-service commercial kitchen, suitable for various events.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, all donations to SOVFC are tax-deductible and directly support their mission to save lives and protect property.
