Department personnel are trained in different aspects of firefighting and the use of specialized tools and apparatus to respond to a wide range of emergency situations. The department also hosts fire safety campaigns throughout the year to educate the community about proper fire safety and prevention. They will also host special safety events at area businesses, day care facilities and local schools. The department also has a junior firefighter program for youth age 14-17.  To keep up with ever-evolving fire safety needs, the department regularly holds refresher courses and courses geared toward professional development.
