We partnered with students and faculty from the Communication Arts Studio at the Hazleton Area Arts & Humanities Academy to build a portfolio of creative work to be featured on DiscoverNEPA.
Participating students worked with the DiscoverNEPA team to capture compelling videos and photos and to write articles featuring their school and community.
A Creative Cornerstone of Hazleton
The Hazleton Area Art League is a place of unity and artistic opportunity founded in 1947. The Hazleton community banded together, got some help from local banks and lawyers, and created the Hazleton Area Art League as a force in the community.
The Hazleton Area Art League offers a variety of opportunities and programs while also hosting multiple events. Some of their most popular programs include their Art Youth Expo and Peace, Love, Chalk Festival.
“We have high art here,” says Dr. Carl Frankel, President of the Board of Directors at the Hazleton Area Art League. “We have programs that are educational. We also want to provide fun and useful cultural experiences. We want people to be able to drop in off the street and enjoy a good experience.”
The Hazleton Area Art League is more than just an art exhibition. It is a place with a sense of community that welcomes everyone with open arms. You don’t have to be someone who knows how to paint or draw in order to walk through the art league’s doors. If you are up for a positive and unique experience, the Hazleton Area Art League is a great place to visit and even become a member of!
