Keeping it Local on #570Day
Every year on May 7th (5/7), Northeastern Pennsylvania comes together to celebrate everything that makes “the 570” shine through #570Day. What started as a simple idea has grown into a community-wide movement that highlights the people, places, businesses, and organizations that make our area thrive.

#570Day was created in 2021 by the Rotary Club of Wilkes-Barre and members of the local community. Their goal was simple but powerful: showcase the good happening across the 570 area code, especially during a time when the world needed extra hope and connection. Since then, it’s become an annual tradition, with individuals and organizations flooding social media with uplifting stories, photos, and celebrations of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

At its heart, 570Day is about community pride — a chance to celebrate the progress we’ve made, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the endless reasons NEPA is a wonderful place to live, work, and play. Whether you’re passionate about local businesses, the outdoors, the arts, food, or volunteerism, 570Day invites everyone to share what they love most about our region.

This year, our theme is “A Look Back, A Leap Forward,” and it is especially meaningful. As we celebrate five years of 570Day, we’re reflecting on all that’s grown and changed across NEPA and looking ahead to the bright future we’re building together. From revitalized downtowns and new parks and trails to expanded arts programs and thriving businesses, there’s so much to honor. It’s a moment to celebrate how far we’ve come — and to imagine the leaps still ahead.
