It’s a Party on the Square

Join the Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce as they “Light Up The Valley” with a FREE community event on June 13th on Public Square in Wilkes-Barre, presented by Visit Luzerne County.

Come out starting at 7 PM, following the Pop-Up Sunsets on South Main (SOMA) event in Midtown Village from 5-7 PM, which will feature entertainment from the Brendan Brisk Band and refreshments from Susquehanna Brewing Company.

The night will kick off at 7 PM with the presentation of the 2024 Change Maker Awards in a special ceremony on the Public Square performance area. These awards will be given out on the band shell stage that night and will be given to the top individuals who consistently strive to make the Wyoming Valley a brighter place, through their efforts in diversity, equity, and inclusion; volunteerism; or innovation, as well as additional efforts that improve the overall quality of life in the Wyoming Valley.

Following the awards ceremony, attendees can enjoy live music from Dustin Douglas & The Electric Gentlemen, over 40 community vendors, kid’s activities, as well as a cornhole tournament hosted by NEPA Cornhole! Attendees are also encouraged to support local restaurants during this event. A few restaurants have created take-out only options to allow you to get food and get back to the bands in midtown and on Public Square. Restaurants will also have specialty-themed drinks for those who prefer to order from the regular menu and dine in. When the sun goes down, they will also have light up accents on the Square, to “Light Up The Valley.”

This event is free to attend and open to the public and is offered in partnership with the City of Wilkes-Barre and the Diamond City Partnership. A signature “Light Up The Valley” merch item is available to the first 300 individuals who complete a free registration.
