Bernie’s Run returns to the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA on Friday, July 4, 2025, continuing a beloved Independence Day tradition. Since 1984, this annual event has brought together runners, walkers, and supporters of all ages for a festive community celebration of health, wellness, and patriotism. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and winds through downtown Wilkes-Barre, offering a scenic course and spirited atmosphere.

Hosted by the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA, Bernie’s Run reflects the organization’s long-standing mission to strengthen individuals and, in turn, create a more caring and connected community. Proceeds and participation help support the YMCA’s efforts to offer impactful programs that promote a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. With each stride, participants help uplift their neighbors through the Y’s outreach, fitness initiatives, youth programs, and more.
