Christmas at the Historic Swetland Homestead at the Historic Swetland Homestead in Wyoming, PA takes place Saturday and Sunday, December 6 and 7, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Hosted by the Luzerne County Historical Society, this holiday event combines an early American Christmas experience with modern seasonal fun.
Inside the house, interpreters guide visitors through rooms set in 1825, sharing how Christmas was observed 200 years ago. Guests can see period-appropriate decorations and learn how the holiday grew from an ordinary winter day into a cherished celebration.
Outdoors, families can enjoy present-day traditions, including visits with Santa Claus and his helper, kids’ crafts, and local food trucks offering treats like Belgian waffles and Caribbean dishes. The onsite Darling House gift shop will feature last-minute gift ideas.
