Led by the Society’s own Dr. William V. Lewis, the tours bring to life the darker side of Wilkes-Barre history, spanning from the mid-1700s through the 20th century. Stops include Public Square, the former site of the Sterling Hotel, River Street, and even the location of the city’s first known execution.
Tours last approximately two hours and set off every 15 minutes beginning at 6:30 PM, with five tours offered each evening. Groups are limited to 45 participants per tour, ensuring an intimate and engaging experience. All tours depart from in front of St. Stephen’s Church on South Franklin Street.
