The Dunmore Cemetery Tour returns for two special dates this fall—Sunday, October 5, and Sunday, October 12, 2025, both beginning at 2:00 PM. This two-hour guided walking tour, presented by The Dearly Departed Players, brings history to life with costumed interpreters sharing stories from the past of the Lackawanna Valley.
Visitors will stroll among historic graves and mausoleums decorated in a festive harvest theme, meeting “residents” of the cemetery along the way. This year, the tour will also feature Scranton Rocks, who will leave their colorful, hand-painted works of art hidden throughout the cemetery for guests to discover and enjoy.
Admission is free and no reservations are required. Guests are encouraged to arrive early for parking and to view special exhibits before the tour begins. Comfortable walking shoes are suggested.
