Family Tree
Tue-Sun until June 1, 2025 | Sordoni Art Gallery
Family Tree brings together the work of four sisters—curators, painters, photographers, and writers—who explore the idea of “talking about trees.” This exhibition reflects on the duality of trees as both a metaphor for genealogical roots and as living organisms affected by human actions. The artists portray trees in various conditions, from thriving in nature’s care to being victims of human conflict, pollution, or neglect.
The exhibition emphasizes the significance of trees in the natural world—often perceived as passive or apolitical—and redefines them as active participants in environmental and historical contexts. Through critical commentary and aesthetic beauty, Family Tree presents trees as symbols of resilience, historical record, and a space for dialogue and learning.
