First Day Hike takes place at Vosburg Neck State Park in Tunkhannock on Thursday, January 1, 2026, with guided hikes at 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Designed for those who want to begin the new year outdoors, this morning outing welcomes 2026 with a peaceful winter walk as the day begins.
Participants will hike approximately 1.5 miles on relatively flat terrain, including a predawn option for early risers who want to experience the park as the world comes awake. A flashlight is encouraged, though hikers may also choose to let their eyes adjust to the low light for a more immersive winter-morning feel.
