Come join Endless Mountains Heritage Region as they make their way to Susquehanna County to experience the D&H Rail Trail! This overnight two-day hike will begin at the Thompson trailhead on Saturday, August 16, at 11 a.m. for registration and sign in. They ask you please park near Twin Ponds on Perry Road (41.857054, -75.538511) in Thompson.

The first day of this hiking adventure will begin after registration and will be approximately 9 miles on a flat route, led by a member of the Rail Trail Council. You will walk north to Buck Falls, stop for a late lunch/break, and return back to the Thompson trailhead. Please pack your own lunch/snacks for the trail.

Overnight accommodations can be found at Camp Bluestone, two miles from the Thompson trailhead location, in Ariat. Overnight supplies are also needed to camp: a tent, sleeping bag, etc. The evening will be filled with games, food, campfire and fellowship. Participants have the options of making their own lodging accommodations, tent camping at Bluestone (included in cost), or contacting Camp Bluestone to reserve one of their cabins. On Sunday, you will depart from the Luciana Park in Lanesboro and travel South to Brandt Gorge by 8:30 a.m., again led by the Rail Trail Council on an easy and somewhat flat route. This hike will be about 5 miles. Please plan accordingly for lunch or snacks again this day.
