Intro to Pottery Class | Peaceful Potter, Wilkes-Barre

Wednesdays, January 7, 14, 21 & 28, 2026 | 6:00–8:00 PM

Intro to Pottery Class at Peaceful Potter in Wilkes-Barre meets on Wednesdays, January 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, introducing students to both handbuilding and wheel-throwing basics. This four-session series is ideal for beginners who want a structured, step-by-step start in clay.

In the first class, students will learn fundamental handbuilding techniques to create simple, functional forms. The following three classes shift focus to the pottery wheel, where participants will practice centering clay, pulling walls, and shaping basic vessels.

Two weeks after the final class, students will return on a weekend at their leisure to glaze their fired pieces. All finished work made in this class will be microwave and dishwasher safe, making each project both beautiful and practical to use at home.

Students are required to have or purchase a pottery tool kit, which should include basic throwing tools, a one-gallon bucket, a towel, and a car wash sponge for cleanup.
