Intro to the Potter’s Wheel | The Peaceful Potter, Wilkes-Barre

Learn the art of pottery in a relaxed and welcoming environment with Intro to the Potter’s Wheel at The Peaceful Potter in Wilkes-Barre, beginning Wednesday, October 29, 2025. This six-week class meets once a week from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and is perfect for beginners or anyone returning to clay after some time away.
No experience is required—students will explore the fundamentals of hand-building, wheel throwing, and glazing using durable stoneware clay. Throughout the course, you’ll create several functional pieces to enjoy for years to come.
Tuition includes all clay, glazes, and firings for up to 10 finished pieces. Students also enjoy unlimited studio access during weeks 1–4 and three extra open studio days (Friday–Sunday) following the final class to complete glazing projects.
Participants will need a basic pottery tool set, one-gallon bucket, car wash sponge, and towel. Tool kits are available for purchase on the first day for $30. The class is open to adults and teens ages 13 and older.
