Discover the joy of working with clay in Intro to the Potter’s Wheel at The Peaceful Potter in Wilkes-Barre, beginning Thursday, October 30, 2025. This six-week class meets weekly from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and is perfect for beginners or anyone looking to reconnect with pottery.
No experience is required—students will learn the fundamentals of hand-building, wheel throwing, and glazing while creating several functional stoneware pieces. Each project is designed to help you develop confidence and creativity on and off the wheel.
Tuition includes all clay, glazes, and firing for up to 10 pieces. Students enjoy unlimited studio access during weeks 1–4 and three additional open studio days (Friday–Sunday after the final class) to perfect their glazing and finishing.
Participants will need a beginner pottery tool kit, one-gallon bucket, car wash sponge, and towel. Tool kits are available for purchase at the studio on the first day for $30. Open to adults and teens (ages 13+).
