Don’t eat the red berries…unless they’re autumn olive! In this program, participants will learn how to identify the plant, more about its history as an invasive species and control strategies, as well as optionally sampling the fruit as we discuss guidelines for foraging wild plants. This program will involve a short walk since we will be using plants along park trails to practice ID.
While parts of the autumn olive plant are edible, each individual may react differently. It’s always a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional before sampling wild foods.
