While hiking along any of the trails through our Pennsylvania woodlands, one is apt to notice the many colorful and interesting mushrooms dotting thforest floor, hanging like shelves from trees, or nestled in cool damp moss. NEPA is home to an amazing array of wild fungi. Have you ever wondered… Are some of them good to eat? Are there poisonous ones? What are the ecological roles of these seemingly ephemeral entities? You are invited to accompany amateur mycologist Dave Wasilewski on a hike through the Rail Gap Nature Preserve. While stopping to examine mushrooms found along the trail, Dave will gladly answer any of your questions and hopefully encourage you to learn more about the fascinating Kingdom of Fungi.

Event will be limited to those who have preregistered.
