Roller Derby Open Recruitment takes place with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Roller Derby on Sunday, January 18, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, inviting adults to try roller derby and learn what it takes to join the league.
Open to anyone 18+, this recruitment night welcomes future skaters, referees, and non-skating officials. All skill levels are encouraged to attend, and no previous skating experience is required—new participants will be taught the basics of skating and derby fundamentals in a supportive environment.
The session also covers league expectations and the path to becoming part of the team, with plenty of time for questions. Attendees should wear workout gear, and those planning to skate should bring a mouth guard. Skates and gear are available temporarily for new skaters on a first-come, first-served basis.
