Everyone is Irish on the Electric City’s biggest day!

Since 1962 the St. Patrick’s Parade Day Association of Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania has conducted this nationally acclaimed parade the weekend before the feast of St. Patrick. The “rite of spring” provides enormous stimulation for the young and young-at-heart.

The Scranton St. Patrick’s Parade is one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the country, drawing thousands of spectators to downtown Scranton each year. The event features a lively procession of bagpipers, marching bands, dancers, and elaborate floats. Held on the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day, the parade is a beloved tradition that showcases the city’s strong Irish heritage and community spirit.

Parade Day Mass at St. Peter’s Cathedral begins at 10am. The Brian P Kelly memorial 2 mile footrace starts at 11am. The parade steps off at 11:45 AM.

Parade Route

The Parade route starts at Mulberry St and Wyoming Ave. Marchers head towards Linden St and then take a left onto Lackwanna Ave. Lackawanna Ave turns into Jefferson and then the route turns left onto Biden St.  After a final right turn onto North Washington, the parade passes the reviewing booth near the corner of North Washington and Linden St.  The parade ends at the corner of North Washington and Vine.
