Seed Starting Presentation and Seed Library Open House takes place at the Tunkhannock Public Library in Tunkhannock on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 1:00 PM. Hosted by the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Wyoming County, this free program shares practical, beginner-friendly guidance for starting plants from seed.
The “Tips for Successful Seed Starting” presentation covers vegetables, herbs, annual and perennial flowers, and native plants. Attendees will learn how to read seed packets, start seeds indoors, direct sow outdoors, and try winter sowing methods.
After the presentation, the library’s Seed Library Project will be open for seed selection until 3:00 PM, with attendees able to choose up to four seed packs to take home. Master Gardeners will also be available to answer home gardening questions, and advanced registration is appreciated.
