Sewing 101: Lined Tote Bag | Back Mountain Makery, Dallas
Tuesday, March 3, 2026 | 6:00 PM
Sewing 101: Lined Tote Bag will take place at Back Mountain Makery in Shavertown on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 6:00 PM. Designed for advanced beginners, this class teaches participants how to create a sturdy, fully lined tote bag from start to finish.
Students will learn practical construction techniques while building confidence with measuring, pinning, stitching, and finishing seams. The focus is on clean, functional results and skills that can be applied to future sewing projects.
This workshop is best for those who already have basic sewing machine knowledge and feel comfortable sewing a straight stitch. Participants should bring their own sewing machine in good working order, threaded with a neutral color such as tan or gray, along with scissors or thread snips, a tape measure, pins or sewing clips (recommended), a seam ripper, and tailor’s chalk or a disappearing marker (optional but recommended). Scissors, pins, seam rippers, and tailor’s chalk will also be available for class use.
Outer fabrics, linings, and strapping are included in the $60 per person class fee. Ages 12 to 112 are welcome. Attendees are asked to arrive 10–15 minutes early to allow time for machine setup.
