ShiverFest 2026 | Parker Street Landing to Sweeney’s Beach, Scranton
Saturday, January 17, 2026 | Launch 12:00 PM (Check-in 11:00–11:30 AM)
ShiverFest 2026 takes place in Scranton on Saturday, January 17, 2026, launching at 12:00 PM from Parker Street Landing for a non-competitive extreme kayak and canoe paddle on the Lackawanna River (conditions permitting). The route runs about 2.7 miles to Sweeney’s Beach.
Paddlers must bring their own vessel and PFD (required), with a wetsuit strongly recommended. Check-in and waiver signing runs from 11:00–11:30 AM, and paddlers are asked to check in again at the finish so organizers can confirm everyone is safely off the river. No shuttle is provided, so transportation plans should be arranged in advance.
Registration is available through the LRCA website. ACA members pay $10, and non-members add $10 one-day insurance for a $20 total.
