Looking to celebrate Mother’s Day with mom outdoors? Sign up for the Endless Mountains Heritage Region’s next event in the Small Business Support Hike series at Salt Springs State Park, Saturday, May 10 through Sunday, May 11. Participants should meet at Salt Springs State Park’s main park office, also known as the historic Wheaton House (GPS coordinates: 41.9119, -75.86553), on both Saturday and Sunday by 11 a.m. to sign in. by noon to check in. Saturday, we will travel on the 7-mile Salt Springs Trail Loop, and Sunday will be the Salt Springs State Park Outer Loop. Hikers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (hiking shoes or boots) and have a sufficient supply of water with them for the duration of both days. Overnight supplies are also needed to camp: a tent, sleeping bag, etc.

After returning from the hike on Saturday, Friends of the Salt Springs State Park will do two presentations with themes of solar energy and gardening, followed by dinner and fun games.

Participants will be responsible for lunch on both days, but dinner Saturday evening (at approximately 5:30 p.m.) will be provided in the $10 cost, which will help support a small local business in the Montrose area and camping for this event.
