Come enjoy historic Carbondale with an end of summer celebration packed with food, fun, music, and activities for all. Variety of kids games, arts and crafts, face painting will be available; parade will begin at 6pm.

Carbondale Station Description and Details: Take a scenic train ride through the Lackawanna Valley along the old Delaware & Hudson Railroad tracks to Carbondale, PA.

History: Carbondale’s present-day train station was built on the site of the Delaware and Hudson Seventh Avenue train station that was opened on February 1, 1896. Local and express trains, both north and south, from Carbondale arrived and departed from Carbondale on a daily basis. In the 1950s, as many as fifteen passenger trains departed daily from this station for Scranton.

Amenities: Light food and refreshments will be available for purchase from vendors as part of the Pioneer Nights event.

Train ride will last approximately 2 hours; departing Steamtown at 3:30 p.m. and arriving to Carbondale around 5:30 p.m. There will be a 3.5-hour layover at the Carbondale Station for the event. Returning train ride will last approximately 2 hours; departing Carbondale at 7:30 p.m. and arriving to Steamtown around 9:30 p.m.
