Northeast Counseling Services was incorporated as a non-profit corporation on January 8, 1971, to provide mental health services to the general public.

They are a full-service community mental health center available to residents of central and southern Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, and beyond.

They are a multiservice agency providing a broad array of behavioral health services through a coordinated system of care that has organized facilities both in Hazleton and Nanticoke and the community at large. They attribute to recovery principles in offering services to all citizens of lower Luzerne County regardless of age or behavioral difficulty.

They are licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and comply with all federal and state laws and regulations as well as Luzerne county resolutions.
