Listening Room: The Big Frank and Mike Smith Juke Joint Duo | The Exchange, Bloomsburg
Wednesday, May 27, 2026 | 7:00 PM
The Exchange in Bloomsburg will host The Big Frank and Mike Smith Juke Joint Duo in its monthly Listening Room series on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 7:00 PM. The series, held at the Exchange Gallery, 24 East Main Street, highlights Blues, Americana, and Roots music in an intimate concert setting.
Big Frank, a veteran Blues musician, is known for his commanding vocals and bottleneck slide style. A longtime figure in the Tri-State Blues scene, he has opened for acts including Little Charlie and the Nightcats, Bo Diddley Jr., and Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears. Legendary DJ Sonny Payne once described his style on KFFA’s King Biscuit Flour Hour as “the closest thing I’ve heard to Hound Dog Taylor.”
For more than a decade, Frank has been joined by harmonica player Mike Smith, a staple of the New York Metro Roots scene who has shared stages with James Cotton and The Subdues. Together, they deliver dynamic performances that celebrate the authentic spirit of American Blues, showcased most recently on their 2023 album Outskirts of Town.
A $10 donation is requested at the door. Guests may BYOB. To reserve seats, call 570-317-2596 or email Exchange@ExchangeArts.org.
