Toys For Tots Open Skate at Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre takes place on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. This 20th annual event gives the public a rare chance to skate on the same American Hockey League regulation ice used by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins while supporting the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.
For one evening only, Mohegan Arena opens its ice to skaters of all ages. Guests who bring a new, unwrapped toy or make a $5 contribution to Toys for Tots are welcome to take part in the open skate session. The event encourages children and families to embrace the spirit of giving while enjoying a memorable experience on the ice.
This community tradition combines holiday fun with philanthropy, helping to provide toys for local children in need during the Christmas season. Participants are encouraged to arrive early, bring their donations, and enjoy a festive night of skating for a meaningful cause.
