Tunkhannock’s Founder’s Day runs Saturday, June 22nd from 10 am to 4 pm along historic Tioga Street and Warren Streets in downtown Tunkhannock. The event is produced by the Tunkhannock Business and Professional Association and among the sponsors is Peoples Security Bank and H & D Waste.

This year the mighty #2102, one of the largest operating Steam Engines on the East Coast, will bring over 700 passengers to the celebration from the Jim Thorpe area. This is in addition to an event that offers something for everyone. Some come for the delicious food selections that are unique to this event. Others hope to find a special treasure for themselves or as a gift. Others like the community atmosphere and additional events held throughout town like the displays and exhibits at the Dietrich Theater and the Wyoming County Historical Society. Sherwood Chevrolet is hosting their annual Classic Car Show and Model A Day.

The Kitson Arts Alliance is working with TBPA to organize music throughout the day at three different locations. There will be a Family Fun Zone in the First National Bank Parking lot with great entertainment for kids and adults. The evening wraps up with Shakespeare in the Park at 7pm.
