Winter Solstice Light Hike takes place at Hickory Run State Park in White Haven on Sunday, December 21, 2025, with arrivals welcome anytime from 4:30 to 7:30 PM. This free, self-guided evening walk invites visitors to welcome winter on the shortest day of the year with an illuminated route around the Sand Spring Day Use Area.
Participants sign in at the pavilion before heading out to follow more than 300 lanterns along a 1-mile loop. The route is described as mostly flat and easy, circling the lake and returning to the starting point.
After the walk, guests can warm up at the pavilion by the fire and enjoy a s’more. Registration is not required.
