Winter Magic in Carbon County
Winter adventures are everywhere in Northeastern Pennsylvania, from carving down the slopes and trekking to frozen waterfalls to gliding across the ice at a local rink. This weekend, we found that seasonal magic in the Pocono Mountains at Jim Thorpe’s 32nd Annual Winterfest.
The festival shimmered with winter charm, offering everything from artisan crafts and handmade gifts to steaming cups of cocoa and live ice carving demonstrations. Jim Thorpe’s quaint shops and inviting restaurants welcomed visitors looking to escape the chill, while the town’s historic architecture, dusted with fresh snow, transformed every street into a postcard-worthy scene.
But what made the day truly unforgettable was the atmosphere. Locals and visitors alike embraced the winter wonderland, sharing in the excitement and small-town charm. It’s that kind of energy that makes Northeastern Pennsylvania feel like home—no matter where you’re from.
