Don’t Miss SIX and The Book of Mormon — Get Your Tickets Today!
Is there anything more beautiful than Autumn in NEPA? The colorful trees, the chill in the air, the anticipation of the upcoming holidays all lead to a special excitement.
Here at Broadway Theatre, autumn also signifies the kick-off of our new season. As I told you in my previous blog, we have six shows on our horizon this season, and we couldn’t be more excited. We are in the midst of the bustle of selling new subscriptions to our 2025-2026 season, which includes SIX, The Book of Mormon, Kinky Boots, Chicago, CLUE and Meredith Willson’s The Music Man. Season tickets remain the most economical way to see all of our shows.
Divorced, Beheaded, Died; Divorced, Beheaded, Survived

So, let’s talk a little about SIX. We are presenting this show November 21-23. Mark your calendars now as the six wives of Henry VIII match the beauty of the season. This show is an hour and 20 minutes with no intermission, so it is a non-stop celebration of the power of these amazing women who are pictured as a modern girl group singing about their lives. And yes, we will find out their fates – “divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded and lived”.
It is a wonderful show and the music is fantastic. It is still playing to packed houses in New York City, and it is a fun night out at the theatre for everyone. We have five performances of this show, with Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30, Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Best seats are available on Sunday at 6:30 p.m., but good seats for all performances are still available. We also have group rates for this show if you have 10 or more people coming. I would classify this show as a must-see!
The Book of Mormon

While I’m on the subject of must-see shows, The Book of Mormon is coming to NEPA December 19-21, with 5 performances at the same times and days of the week as SIX. This hilarious show is also still playing to packed houses on Broadway, and we are thrilled to be able to offer it to our audiences here. It is a nine-time Tony Award winning musical comedy that was named Best Musical at the 2011 Tony Awards and was called the “best musical if this century” by the New York Times.
Get your seats now, as they are sure to be a hot ticket! Group rates also apply to this show, so if you want to get 10 people together for a hilarious night out before the holidays, give us a call.
Champions of Holiday Magic Holiday Spectacular

Speaking of holiday magic, I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you about a one night only show that we are bringing this year, just in time for the holidays. The Champions of Magic Holiday Show is an add-on show for Broadway that is playing at the Scranton Cultural Center on Wednesday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m.
This show would be a great opportunity for an office Christmas party or a family outing to get in the mood for the holidays. I have always been a sucker for magic shows, and I still am in awe of how they pull off these tricks. This full-length show will certainly be a good break from holiday shopping and stress, and may just put you in the mood for holiday magic. Ho Ho Ho.
As you can see, we at Broadway Theatre have packed November and December with great options for entertainment. We also wanted you to know that our theatre at the Scranton Cultural Center is in the undergoing a major remodel of the ceiling and proscenium, and you will find a brighter and even more beautiful theatre when you come. The opening of the theatre will be the week that we kick off SIX, so you will be one of the first to see our fresh new face. I am sure that you will love it as much as we do.
See you at the theatre.
