Discover NEPA is teaming up with Broadway Theatre League of NEPA to give you a sneak peek of the shows from the Great White Way headlining Broadway in Scranton’s performances at the Scranton Cultural Center this season.
Broadway Returns To Scranton
You know the saying, “fall back, spring forward,” to signify the change from daylight savings time to Eastern Standard Time? I always celebrated “fall back” because it gave me an extra hour of sleep! But I guess that’s best discussed with my sleep study doctor. The point I’m making is that when fall arrives, many people notice that the temperature is crisper, children return to school and homework, football season begins and the leaves make the scenery in NEPA stunningly beautiful. At Broadway Theatre League, it signifies the beginning of our Broadway season.
Motown Maestros
In my last blog, I described the upcoming shows for the 2024-2025 season, which includes Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of the Temptations, The Addams Family, Dear Evan Hansen and Mean Girls. I won’t repeat my descriptions here, but I will go more in-depth on Ain’t Too Proud as it is our kickoff show.
When you think of The Temptations, certain songs come to mind right away. Although the group released their music in the 1960s and 1970s, their hits are still well-known and loved by people of every age. “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination,” “Get Ready,” and, of course, “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” are among the most memorable.
However, how many of us know the story of The Temptations? This award-winning musical will tell the story of the band through all their major hits and will surely leave you smiling (and dancing) as you leave the theatre. A large part of The Temptations’ allure came from their harmonies, choreography and their distinctive wardrobe. All of this is on display in this show. In fact, Ain’t Too Proud won the Tony Award for Best Choreography in 2019. As our season ticket sales began, we received so many calls asking when tickets for this show were on sale, that we expect a packed house every night!
Season Tickets: The Best Seats, Prices and Perks
I know you are also asking—what about the other shows? I hear you, believe me, I hear you. You can get tickets to all our shows with a season ticket purchase. Season tickets guarantee your seats to all of the shows on our 2024-2025 season, and you will have the same great seat for every performance.
You simply choose whether you want to attend Friday nights at 7:30 p.m., Saturday afternoons at 2:00p.m., Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., or Sunday afternoons at 1:00 p.m. We’ll then find you the best seats we have based on your preferences. Easy peasy! Also, as a benefit to season tickets, if you can’t make your performance to any show, we can exchange your tickets to another performance of the same show.
We also want to remind you that group tickets are on sale for all our shows today—before single tickets even go on sale. Group tickets can be purchased if you have 10 or more people in your group, and feature the ability to reserve as many seats as you need at the group price. One month before the show, you give us the final number of seats you need (as long as it remains over 10) and you make payment. If you want to bring your friends, families or co-workers to experience a first-rate Broadway show, call the office today and reserve your group!
As you read this blog, single tickets for Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of the Temptations are on sale at the box office at the Scranton Cultural Center and online. You can also still purchase season tickets to our entire 2024-2025 season by calling the Broadway Theatre League office at (570) 342-7784 or by purchasing them online.
