For over 100 years the Pottsville Free Public Library has stood as a symbol of the community’s commitment to education and information. This brick and granite building designed in the likeness of Philadelphia’s Independence Hall anchors Pottsville to its past.

Accessing the library couldn’t be any easier. Library cards are free to any resident of Schuylkill County. This library is also a member of the Access PA Statewide Borrowing Program which grants members access to library materials all throughout PA.

Cardholders will have access to thousands of books and computers, an extensive Ebook library and so much more. The library frequently hosts special events for kids and adults. And many clubs and organizations utilize the library as a meeting space.
