The Bog | Inclusive Play & Community Recreation in Wilkes-Barre

The Bog in the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, PA is a community park designed for inclusive play and recreation. Families, children and visitors of all ages use the park for accessible outdoor activities and sports. The park supports children of all abilities with spaces designed for shared play.

At the center of the park is an all-inclusive playground designed for safe and accessible play. The playground features 29 pieces of equipment built for children with diverse abilities. Slides, climbing structures and sensory-friendly features encourage active outdoor play.

The park offers recreational amenities for the wider community. Six pickleball courts provide space for casual play and local matches. Walkways throughout the park help visitors move easily between recreational areas. Parking areas make visits convenient for families and teams. Additional amenities at The Bog include a shelter, storage area, playground, five tennis courts, two baseball fields, a volleyball court and a handball court. These facilities support recreational use, local sports and community gatherings.

The Bog is home to Evercor Field, the official field of Wyoming Valley Challenger Baseball. The Challenger program gives children with physical or developmental disabilities the opportunity to participate in organized baseball. The field hosts games and activities for players, families and volunteers.
