The oldest continuously running Jazz Club in the country
This 19th century boarding house has undergone many changes over the years. The Deer Head Inn began its life as a quaint stop for weary travelers through the Poconos. By the mid-1950s, it had transformed into the central hub of the Northeastern PA Jazz scene. Soon, it became the gathering spot for travelling musicians playing the larger resorts in the area.
The Deer Head Inn still offers lodging in 10 beautifully appointed guestrooms. And with its central location in Delaware Water Gap, you’re close to everything this charming village has to offer. The Deer Head is surrounded by hiking trails, the Delaware River, The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and various local shops and restaurants.
The Deer Head Inn is also known for its exquisite cuisine. They serve dinner every Thursday through Sunday and on the last Monday of each month. The Menu features everything from steaks and salmon to burgers and cheesesteaks.
And of course, there’s the Jazz. With a comprehensive schedule of artists and performers, the Deer Head Inn hosts regular shows every Wednesday through Sunday and on the occasional Monday. National and International Jazz artists usually fill out the rosters among local musicians. And there are exciting Jazz Jams every Thursday.
Experience great jazz, delicious food, and a summer evening on the wrap around porch all in the serene landscape of the Delaware Water Gap.
