WCHS Museum | Local history exhibits in Tunkhannock

WCHS Museum in Tunkhannock, PA, operated by the Wyoming County Historical Society, showcases historical artifacts that trace the county’s development across generations. The museum highlights items from Wyoming County and surrounding communities, offering visitors a walk through regional history. Exhibits reflect daily life, industry, education and military service. Tours are available by appointment during seasonal hours.

Inside, themed rooms create immersive experiences. The Military Room honors veterans with uniforms, photographs and equipment spanning from the American Revolution through the World Wars. The School Room recreates a one-room classroom with antique desks, vintage tools and historic toys. A clothing collection features garments from multiple eras, including a Victorian wedding gown. Additional displays include a music corner with instruments and uniforms, an old-fashioned barbershop setting and collections of tools, transportation artifacts and Native American objects.

Working replicas, including the Lake Carey Mill and a model ship, add interactive elements to the experience.
