Embracing the Scenic, Snowy Fun at NEPA's State Parks
When the temperatures drop and the snowflakes fall, NEPA starts to embrace its coming winter months. From December through February (and sometimes well into March), if we’ve got some free time, we’re not wasting it inside.
Out in the Pocono Mountains into the Valley Communities and all over the Endless Mountains, we’re on the lookout for classic NEPA winter fun. If we’re not shredding down the slopes, we’re heading to our amazing parks and lakes for refreshing hikes and ice fishing or maybe we’re lacing up for a little outdoor ice skating.
If you’re looking for ways to stay active in the chilly weather, 16 of NEPA’s 18 state parks offer plenty of fun winter activities for the whole family. Check em’ out!
Lehighton, PA
Enjoy over 3,000 acres of winter recreation At Beltzville State Park in Lehighton including the 949-acre Beltzville Lake, 15 miles of hiking trails and plenty of winter activities.
Activities include: cross-country skiing, iceboating, ice fishing and snowshoeing.

Note: The Falls Trail is closed during the winter and only properly-equipped ice climbers and hikers are permitted.
