Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania | Healing spaces for child abuse survivors in Scranton

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania (CAC/NEPA) in Scranton is a private, nonprofit organization committed to providing expert care for child and teen victims of abuse and neglect. Located at the top of Mulberry Street in a recognizable blue house with a bright pink door, the center is open 24/7 to respond when children need help most. In 2013, CAC/NEPA expanded its services with the Teen Advocacy Center (TAC), located just around the corner, offering a safe, age-appropriate setting for teens to share their stories and begin the healing process.

Comprehensive, Compassionate Care

Children and teens arriving at the center are met with warmth, safety and professionals trained to guide them through trauma with dignity and care. CAC/NEPA provides forensic interviews, medical exams, advocacy and mental health services all under one roof—minimizing retraumatization and ensuring immediate access to help. With child-friendly spaces and a trauma-informed approach, the organization places the emotional and physical needs of young survivors first.

A Collaborative Approach to Justice & Healing

Using a coordinated Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) model, CAC/NEPA brings law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors and medical and mental health professionals together on-site. This team responds to each case in a unified, child-centered way, eliminating the need for children to repeat their story at multiple locations. The result is a process that protects children, supports families and strengthens the pursuit of justice.

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania brings comfort, healing and expert care to child and teen abuse survivors in Scranton and beyond.
