Mission Statement
The Animal Resource Center (ARC) of Millville, PA is a no-kill, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose purpose is to provide temporary shelter for homeless, abused, and neglected dogs and cats; educate the public on their care & welfare; and act as advocates for animal rights. We are also dedicated to promoting the spaying and neutering of cats and dogs; thereby, reducing the number of animals who are homeless, unwanted or destroyed.

Animal Resource Center (ARC) in Millville is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal shelter dedicated to saving and improving the lives of dogs and cats throughout the region. Since its founding in 1999 as a small, foster-based initiative in the Bloomsburg area, ARC has grown into a full-scale shelter that houses over 100 animals at any time. Operated entirely through donations and volunteer support, ARC remains committed to its no-kill philosophy and provides individualized care for every animal that comes through its doors.
Compassionate Care & Enrichment for Every Animal
ARC ensures that every dog and cat receives proper shelter, veterinary care and enrichment while they await adoption. In 2022, the shelter placed 425 cats and over 100 dogs into loving homes. Dogs enjoy daily walks, playtime and social outings, while cats benefit from a cage-free environment with access to a secure, climate-controlled patio. For animals with serious medical needs, ARC partners with veterinary experts—including Cornell University—to provide specialized treatment and second chances.
A Community-Driven Mission
Thanks to a dedicated team of staff, board members and volunteers, ARC continues to grow its impact in the Millville community. The shelter runs solely on public donations and relies on continued community involvement to sustain operations. From adoption and fostering to fundraising and event support, there are many ways to help give local animals a better life.
