Mission Statement

The Animal Resource Center (ARC) of Millville, PA is a no-kill, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose purpose is to provide temporary shelter for homeless, abused, and neglected dogs and cats; educate the public on their care & welfare; and act as advocates for animal rights. We are also dedicated to promoting the spaying and neutering of cats and dogs; thereby, reducing the number of animals who are homeless, unwanted or destroyed.

The Animal Resource Center (ARC) of Millville has been a resource for the dogs, cats and people of our area since 1999. What began as a small, foster-based organization in the Bloomsburg area has since grown into a facility in Millville that houses over 100 animals and is supported by a dedicated team of staff, board members and volunteers.

Our shelter is a private, 501(c)3 organization that runs solely on the generous donations of our community and through that generosity, is able to provide shelter, veterinarian and individualized care for the animals under our care until adopted. In 2022, we were able to place 425 cats and over 100 dogs into loving homes!

ARC follows a no-kill philosophy, working to give the dogs and cats in our care every opportunity to be placed into forever homes. We ensure that any animal entering our shelter is given the veterinarian care they need to be healthy and available for adoption, even if it means seeking specialized care or diagnostics through veterinarian hospitals like Cornell University. Our staff works daily to guarantee our animals have appropriate exercise and enrichment with daily walks, individualized playtime and occasional outings to dog-friendly locations and events with staff and volunteers. We do not utilize cages or kennels in our cat units and instead our adoptable cats and kittens are free to roam in a temperature controlled environment with access to a contained patio space.

With the support and encouragement of our community, we have accomplished so much since we opened our doors over 20 years ago. We hope you will support the Animal Resource Center as we continue expanding, evolving and serving the animals and people of our community.
