The mission of Artists For Art (AFA) Gallery is to foster an appreciation of the visual arts, to present the visual arts to the Northeastern Pennsylvania region and to provide support to regional artists.

Artists for Art (AFA) Gallery in Scranton is a nonprofit arts organization founded in 1988 to support regional visual artists and promote creative collaboration. As a central gathering space for artists and art lovers in Northeastern Pennsylvania, AFA fosters cultural growth through exhibitions, events and educational outreach. Its mission is rooted in building community through visual arts while creating meaningful opportunities for artistic expression.
Exhibitions, Events & Collaborations
AFA Gallery hosts rotating exhibits that showcase the work of local and regional artists across a range of media. Regular events like First Fridays, artist talks and fundraisers bring the public into direct conversation with working artists. AFA also collaborates with organizations like the Everhart Museum, Scranton Fringe Festival, Arts Alive and Lackawanna Markets to broaden community access to the arts.
Sustained by Members & Arts Funding
The gallery is primarily supported by member donations, with additional funding from the Lackawanna County Department of Arts and Culture and the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts through Arts in Education NEPA. These partnerships help AFA continue its mission to uplift artists and expand the reach of the visual arts in Scranton and beyond.
