Mission Statement

Carve for Cancer Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the mission of shredding blood cancers through extreme sports events and fundraising.

Carve 4 Cancer was founded by snowboarder Brent P. Evans, who was diagnosed with stage IV non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2010. Brent envisioned a snowboarding event to raise funds to shred cancer, and Carve 4 Cancer held their first festival in 2012. The annual event has grown into the Poconos’ premier free-ride snowboard and ski festival. The festival and Carve 4 Cancer’s other extreme sports events have raised tens of thousands of dollars for life-saving research.

Brent passed away in 2016, but his legacy lives on at Carve 4 Cancer. The organization partners with Dr. Andrei Shustov and the University of Washington, Medicine Advancement to help fund t-cell lymphoma research. Carve 4 Cancer also supports patients through the Live Like Brent Foundation, which alleviates the financial burden of cancer treatment.
